I've been thinking about doing a photo challenge, so when I saw that Fat Mum Slim created a January photo challenge I followed along, curious if it would be fun for me, or if it would feel like work. People submitted some beautiful images with thier phones on Instagram and I thought maybe it would be something I could do if I kept it simple and used my phone. She created a new one for February and I'm in this time! Looking forward to playing along and seeing what other people shoot. There are over 350 people signed up on her site already!
I'll be posting my photos on Instagram, so check me out there (lesliedf), and play along! Use the hashtag #FEBphotoaday to see what others are posting.
The prompt for today is "your view today" and so since I am sitting at my desk, I look to my left and this is what I see:
Totally as it is, dirty dishes on the table and toys on the floor! Quinn is hiding there on the couch, you can see just his arm.
Part of this is about embracing my phone as my "small" camera. I used the new Olympus I recently bought when I was at Alt Summit and I was not happy with the amount of work I needed to do to make pictures I was happy with. It's not the camera itself, but the learning curve of having to make and edit photos from a completely new camera. My Canon is heavy, but I know how to use it quickly and effectively. That, I've decided, is more important to me. Especially if I can use my phone as my point and shoot.
Hope to see you online with February Photo a Day!!
